PPMR, what is it?
Pixel Pokémon Minecraft Remaster - PPMR is a Minecraft map downloadable from the Planet Minecraft website. The concept is simple : remaster the content of the Pixel Pokémon Minecraft - PPM map (formerly only available on PS3) to allow all Minecraft Bedrock players to enjoy the map.

Our story
Since 2018
In early 2018, Pikacraft and Pyrotaux, two video game players and friends, decided to create a Minecraft map on the PS3 version. The concept was simple: to recreate all the Pokémon in pixel art within a city inspired by the Pokémon universe. Pixel Pokémon Minecraft - PPM was born. Since 2018, numerous parties and events have been organized on the map, many buildings have been constructed, 834 Pokémon have been added, and numerous updates have been released.
On April 15, 2021, Pixel Pokémon Minecraft - PPM was officially published on Planet Minecraft. Since then, more than 22 updates have been released. Downloaded over 1,000 times, the map has enjoyed modest success, and the community has continued to grow.
While the creators were preparing the iconic Christmas celebration on the map, they decided on February 3, 2023, to end the Pixel Pokémon Minecraft - PPM adventure in order to focus on other projects. The reason for stopping PPM was that the lack of updates and new content on the PS3 version of Minecraft was hindering their creativity.
Starting in 2023
After a few months' hiatus, Pikacraft & Pyrotaux returned with a major project: remastering Pixel Pokémon Minecraft for recent versions of Minecraft and allowing different platforms (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, mobile) to enjoy the gameplay experience previously only available on Minecraft PS3.
The first version of the project was released on May 20, 2023. This one is called Pixel Pokémon Minecraft Remaster - PPMR. The idea is to recreate and improve upon the great creations of the original map while adding new features. It's not a simple copy-paste, but rather a complete reimagining of the entire city of PPM. As a result, iconic structures are back, but modified to meet the expectations of new players.
To pay homage to the original PS3 map, the creators chose not to reproduce the pixel art and left it in the old version. Although the 2018 map will no longer be updated, it remains downloadable on Planet Minecraft.
Since 2023, the map has been constantly evolving, and the creators continue to surprise both veteran and new players. The map has surpassed 400 downloads, and its future looks promising for both veteran and new Pixeltors (the community's nickname).
Today, version ALPHA 2 has been available for download since November 2024. Construction is still underway, and further updates are planned.
